On a VOYAGER across Australia

““It has literally been all work and no play so we are absolutely chomping at the bit to get out on the road and play some music again”

Prepare for the HALESTORM

Iif you have never caught John Fred Young and Arejay Hale in a room together look out because it is like when a tornado meets a hurricane.

The divine CHAOS DIVINE

“We also have a history of partying together so it could get interesting… but we are getting old.”

In a dark place with SKYND

“It is really an interest in true crime and it started really early and I was just fascinated by death and by crime.”

Life Without Restraints with BORN FREE

“We wanted every part of it to count and every section of every song to make people go nuts or wanna sing along or stage dive or get involved and pretty much the way we wrote the album we wanted people to listen to it and want to put it on again”.

Growing Old Disgracefully with MEMORIAM

“It’s just a big sounding, heavy, steamroller of an album. I’ve been listening to it for three months so it will be interesting to find out – because I know there has been a couple of songs come out – but it will be interesting to hear everybody’s view once the full length is out next week”.

Seperating Fact From Fiction with THE GLOOM IN THE CORNER

“We wanted to do something that was a little bit out of the box for most concept bands. There are concept bands out there like Defeater who focus on return soldiers of war and stuff like that and then there are other bands like Sworn In who focus on one self-loathing person. What we decided to do was we took aspects from a lot of pop culture – specifically action movies and stuff like that, and horror films – and decided to make it into one whole story”.

Changing the tides with RED SEA

“That’s why when we describe ourselves we make a point of saying we’re prog and melodic just to distinguish so people – depending on what their tastes are – know what we’re bringing”.

ABLAZE at Frankie’s Pizza By The Slice 15/06/2019

If like me, you grew up in the eighties, your first foray into heavy music may well have been via the hard rock bands of that era. While individual tastes change over time, and heavy music continues to evolve and push boundaries, sometimes it is excellent to re-visit those hard rock roots, and tonight, I’m […]
