VALHALORE Strip Things Back On Upcoming Tour

Brisbane folk metal machine Valhalore have been mesmerizing crowds with their unique blending of melodic death, power and symphonic metal for more than half a decade and have now decided to strip away the electric element by hitting the road with an intimate and acoustic performance.

Vocalist Lachlan Neate joined HEAVY earlier this week to talk about the tour and the myriad of wonders that is Valhalore.

“It’s a bit of something for everyone,” he explained. “It’s a bit different to something you would normally expect at a Valhalore show while keeping all of the good bits so I think it’s a show that appeals to not only the metal crowd but the non-metal crowd as well without losing any of the punch or the Valhalore sound. It’s just a really cool night and something that we all love doing being a folk metal band, it’s nice to be able to lean into the folk aspect of what we do a little bit more. It’s a night of drinking and hopefully some dancing depending on how the COVID thing is happening. Just a good time.”

The seeds for this tour were sewn after a highly successful debut hometown show, with Neate emphasizing that the acoustic element is something that has been a driving force of Valhalore since their conception.

“It’s something that we’ve always wanted to do,” he affirmed. “Again, as I mentioned, being a folk metal band the acoustic elements even in our heavy music are something that are quite prevalent for us. Then with COVID and everything that has rocked our industry in the last year the opportunity to put on an acoustic show came up and it’s something that we have discussed doing for a little while so we jumped at the opportunity and were amazed at how incredibly well it was received in Brissy and off the back of that we were asked to put on the same show at the Gold Coast and all of those shows sold out so we thought there was a demand for it and we haven’t been able to go on the road for a while so let’s give this a crack and see how people respond to it.”

In the full interview, Lachie runs through what to expect from the show, writing songs acoustically, transferring existing songs to the acoustic arena, the stage set up, historical accuracy in their music, upcoming new music and more.
