Sedulous Rouse is a three-piece progressive metal band out of Adelaide South Australia. They play a mix of thrash/death and prog metal combined into a sound all of their own.
Formed in 2012, members come from previous well known Adelaide bands Blood Mason, Murder Hill and Cloth Tape with over 300 shows around Australia between them. They recorded their debut CD, Seasons of Triumph at the famed Against the Grain studios in Adelaide with Andy Kite in late 2012. This CD contains 8 tracks of beauty and brutality in equal measure. This set the foundation for the band to start a journey of musical expression and creativity which would lead them into uncharted territory for themselves as musicians.

The band developed their sound with the release of their follow up full-length album The Valley Beyond in December 2016. This album was again recorded with Andy Kite at Against the Grain studios. This has 10 tracks of unbridled metal that glide across genre’s and delivers the fist-pumping, head banging moments, along with the subtler moments that all good bands know how to handle. It is a musical journey that takes the listener into the world of Sedulous Rouse and explores themes of personal discovery, disgust with religion and dealing with inner demons.
2019 has seen the band with the addition of Paul Murphy (ex-Sickness, ex-StarGazer) on drums and vocals release their latest single “Ontogenesis of Violence”. This is a new era of technicality and progressiveness for the band as they look to record and release their 3rd album in 2020.
