Nonpoint are certainly one of the modern day stalwarts in the heavy music scene. Twelve albums over a career that has spanned twenty-two years means the band know a thing or two about touring. Now the band return to Australia to tour alongside (hed)pe, one of their first tours of Australia that hasn’t seen them on the festival circuit. HEAVY Mag found out that that is something that frontman Elias Soriano is very excited about.
“We’ve done multiple runs with the guys from (hed)pe back in the day,” he explains. “We touched on it again a couple of years ago and it was well received – a lot of great comments came from it. So we decided that this time around we would give it a shot overseas. They wanted to get a band that was similar to their vibe and I think we definitely pair up nicely. We’ve always had a high energy show, they have always had a high energy show and I think we can bring some of those good feelings back to some of our diehards.”
“Whenever you tour Australia it is known for its mad dash,” he continues. “You go venue to venue, hotel to airports so we don’t normally get as much downtime as we would like to when we are in Australia. But I can guarantee you that any time the two bands can get some down time together we are certainly going to be taking advantage of that.”
