The Power Of Rock With SASQUATCH

Share This:

Many bands boast that they will play anywhere, any time, but when it comes to the crunch generally defer to the safer options, leaving fans in less mainstream locations once again lamenting what could have been.

Rarely do you come across a band who delivers on such promises, but you can be rest assured that when Los Angeles power trio Sasquatch promise to come to a town near you they will do their level best to be there.

The band have had Australia in their crosshairs ever since completing their 2019 tour of the country and have now returned for unfinished business.

At the bar that is.

HEAVY took a late minute call with the band earlier today and discovered they had split up into individual touring parties in an attempt to find the best watering hole in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley before taking to the stage tonight at King Lears Throne.

It was a fun and entertaining chat, offset by the soothing sounds of pub life, so listen/read on and prepare to enter the life of a touring band who live to play and play to live.

“We’re looking forward to playing as many places as we can,” declared bass player Jason ‘Cas’ Casanova. “We’re here, so let’s play rock and roll, right? We go where people want us, that’s our motto.”

Part of the reason the band loves coming back to this side of the world is the casual nature of Australians and their love of life and music.

“We’ve met so many good people and had such great times,” Cas enthused. “It was fantastic last time we came out. I think we all agree on that one.”

In the full interview, Cas and vocalist/guitarist Keith Gibbs talk about what to expect from Sasquatch when they hit the stage, the importance of playing wherever the people want, their recent album Fever Fantasy and how well it has been received, how they measure the success of an album release, the three year gap between finishing the album and releasing it, whether or not the songs feel dated after so long, the early days of the band and where they fit in, the musical evolution of Sasquatch and more.
