Unfortunately, since HEAVY first broke the news of a three-day travelling metal extravaganza called Ratfest back in February of this year, two of the featured bands have had to withdraw from the line-up for varying reasons that are quite frankly no-ones business but their own.

Tasmania’s Captives and the irrepressible locals Suiciety have regrettably made way, with Seedy Jesus and Dreamkillers taking their place for the run of Melbourne shows at The Gasometer in Collingwood on August 23 followed by Haba in Rye on August 24 and the Sooki Lounge in Belgrave the following night.

This will be Dreamkillers first visit to Melbourne since the last time Collingwood had a reliable full forward, and Les and the boys have promised to make up for lost time. The Brisbane metal warriors have been drip-feeding new tunes on a monthly basis from early this year, so by the time they hit Melbourne in August chances are they will have a swag of awesome new songs to entertain the masses.

With the same five bands playing each show – rounded out by Frankenbok, Full Tone Generator and Quaid – Ratfest is shaping as one of those festivals you could easily hitch a ride to for all three shows…
