The Buck Stops With BUCKCHERRY

Share This:

Buckcherry are a band that should need no introduction in Australia. Hailing from Anaheim in California the band has managed to attract a legion of fans in Australia since their self-titled debut album came out in 1999. Now the band are about to tour Australia once again off the back of their Warpaint album so HEAVY Mag caught up with the main man Josh Todd.

“It’s been going great,” says Todd when I ask how the Warpaint tour has been going so far. “It is such a great record and we are so proud of it. We worked so hard on it and it has been so well received by the public and the media… you can’t really ask for anything else at this point of time. You know this marks eight records and twenty years in the game for us, we are getting along really well and this is the best line-up of musicians that we have had… ever. So the shows have been going really great and we are getting along really well…. I couldn’t ask for more.”

“Yeah everybody has been on their A-Game because everything has just stepped up,” laughs Todd when we talk about the new members coming into Buckcherry. “The backing vocals of Buckcherry have never sounded better… they are amazing live. Kevin sings and Stevie is a good singer to, so for me it gives me a lot more confidence walking on stage and then Francis is a really great drummer and he has been with other bands and then of course Kelly LeMieux has always been a really accomplished bass player, so with those guys as the rhythm section it is just unstoppable. You’ll see, we have been having a lot of fun and by the time we get to Australia we’ll have a lot of shows under our belt so it will be really good.”
