Rhino are a fully-fledged hard rock band hailing from Brisbane, Australia. They forged the band name from their style of music. Big, heavy and aggressive.
Rhino are a loose collective of Brisbane-area musicians formed by guitarists Geoff Newnam and James Wassenaar. The band has undergone some additions including Baltimore Gun Club frontman Simon Benson and drummer Heath Kelly. With experience behind them and a blend of musicianship and creativity, Rhino produces a high energy/hard-hitting performance that in the short time they have been together has impressed many.
They have recorded at Studios 101 in Byron Bay with Producer/Engineer Lucius Borich (Cog, Hanging Tree). Their debut single “Afterlife” was released on October 25th 2019, followed by a release tour through Brisbane, Gold Coast and Sydney in November that was well received. The band then capped off the year with two massive shows supporting Cog at The Triffid in Brisbane, and the Solbar, Maroochydore before keeping up the intensity in 2020 by supporting Wolfmother at The Triffid in Brisbane.
Their follow up single “White Witch” was released on April 24, 2020
