The theme of “White Willow” follows on from our first track, “When in Rome“.
Our vocalist Wade penned it about a very dark time in his life, before recovering from alcoholism.
His perspective at that time changed for the better, from being self-destructive and without purpose, to wanting to make the most of each day and leave his mark on the world.
The memory and lingering feelings of hopelessness are the influence for this track.
The track is quite dark in subject & we wanted to reflect this in the video.
The themes of despondency are translated into jarring, confronting imagery that mirrors the mindset of the lyrics.
Every part of the song & film clip was done in house, which makes it very personal to us as it represents a lot of hard work that we’re proud of.
