Sydney’s Hellions have released three songs from their upcoming album, Rue, which will be unleashed on October 9. Drummer Anthony Caruso warns that while the three songs – “Smile”, “X Mwah”, and “Furrow” all stand out in their own right, it would be a mistake to judge the overall album on the basis of those tunes.
“I think they’ve got a nice little mix in the sound of what to expect,” he measured. “I wouldn’t probably base your opinions or thoughts of the record on those three songs only but they basically give you a taste of what’s to come.”
In the full interview Anthony discusses the album in greater detail as well as the upcoming tour, but throughout faces questions based on HEAVY reviewer Simon Russell-White’s view on the album, ranging from what some of the songs are like musically, to their meaning, their intended response, and even down to what feelings they are looking to invoke. It is a searching analysis of both Simon’s opinion as well as how Anthony replies to the ideas levelled at him.
