Grunge Is Far From Dead with TRACE

Share This:

Brisbane two piece outfit Trace are a band who unashamedly play to their strengths and influences. With a deep love for 90’s era grunge, drummer/vocals Scott Wade argues that while every band has their influences it is vitally important to be able to hear an artists’ own persona shine through with any original music piece.

“From the get-go with Trace we’ve always been wanting to re-live the grunge movement”, he said, “so Alice In Chains, Soundgarden, Stone Temple Pilots and even diving into different genres like Pantera and all that kind of stuff. They are bands we grew up with and got us excited and starting to play music. We always want our songs to have our influences on our sleeves so to speak so people can pick it. That’s pretty much where all of our songs. including “White” have come from”.

In the full interview Scott discusses this even further including the line on imitation and inspiration and where to draw it, new single “White” and fans reaction to it, the lyric video and reasons for going in that direction with the initial film clip, future releases and the format they may take, the history of Trace including their early vision as a band, surviving the virus epidemic as a new band without an established fan base and more.
