GROOVER Review: THE DEAD BEAST INITIATIVE ‘Small Things’

Share This:

Greek rockers The Dead Beast Initiative have unleashed their first music onto the world in the form of Small Things and have graciously asked HEAVY to take a listen.

Firing up straight off the bat with a repeating guitar riff, the song instantly has a psychedelic feel courtesy of the fuzzy guitar tone which is perpetuated when the vocals kick in, full of groove and swagger.

There isn’t much going on here, but you get the feeling that is exactly what The Dead Beast Initiative were going for.

By saying less sometimes you can say more and if this band has learnt that already by their debut single then they are well ahead of the game.

As the song progresses the vocals become more on more angst-ridden and desperate, as though trying to make a sonic point which indeed The Dead Beast Initiative have by the time the track draws to a close with a drawn-out cry and swirling of guitar.

Nice first-up effort.
