“I guess you could see it like that,” agreed Alexander Orn Numason, bass player for Iceland’s The Vintage Caravan when told that the bands’ music has been labeled classic rock with a retro tinge. “We don’t really think of ourselves as doing too much of the retro thing. Obviously, the influences are all there but at this point, I guess if we weren’t called in this whole retro stoner scene we would probably just be rock for lack of a better term. I don’t really care too much about the labeling, people just call us whatever they want.”
Listen to the full interview to hear Alex discuss The Vintage Caravan’s upcoming album ‘Gateways’ and its’ musical content, the classic sound generated by the band, the line between inspiration and imitation and where to draw it, the bands’ early vision, the music scene in Iceland and more.
