Howard Jones’ new project is to be called Devil You Know and the band is currently working on a new album.
Made up of All Shall Perish guitarist Francesco Artusato and Australia’s own John Sankey, the two musicians have been working on material since early this year when they approached Jones to join them on vocals. Sankey has had a very successful career since relocating to Los Angeles with his band Devolved and has gone on to work in Divine Heresy and co-wrote the drum programming on the last Fear Factory album, The Industrialist.
Howard spent nine years singing with Killswitch Engage, but left last year due to health reasons. He has spent the last year managing his diabetes, which he later revealed put him in a coma for three days at one stage.
“I knew the guys, but didn’t really know them,” Jones has said about his new collaboration, “They got in touch and asked if I wanted to throw down some vocals on this stuff, and I said, ‘OK, let me take a listen to it,’ and I was, like, ‘Hmm, this is interesting. Why not?’ I didn’t really expect it to even go this far, because, in all honesty, I wasn’t sure if I was even going to do music again. But it seemed right, so I jumped right into it.”
A title for the upcoming album has not been released and the band are yet to sign to a label, but plan on releasing their debut album before the year’s end.
