“Oh no, no, no, no”, stressed Lindsay Schoolcraft when asked if Dani Filth is concerned that she is starting on a solo career. “He knows I’m committed to Cradle of Filth. He’s really happy for me and so are the other guys in the band. They are like my second family and outside of Cradle we all do other musical projects on the side so they are excited for me. They are really great guys”.
After recently wrapping up an extensive tour with Cradle of Filth, Schoolcraft is now setting her sights on her first venture as a solo artist/D.J, and admits going it alone is tougher than she first envisaged.
“It’s been a lot, a lot of preparation”, she laughed. “I have just come off the Cradle tour and now have to pack again and I’m doing everything by myself! I was telling one of my friends earlier that I just kind of miss the fact that Cradle takes care of things usually (laughs) but it’s all about time management and making lots of to-do lists. It keeps you in line. I’ve still got a lot more to do before I leave but it’s coming together”.
In the full interview Lindsay discusses what to expect from her intimate run of shows from the solo material as well as her DJ’ing stint, why she chose Australia to kick off her debut solo tour, nerves and how they differ when you are one out instead of in a band situation, what inspired her to perform solo, her upcoming E.P Martyr and more.
