Finding Answers with CURRENTS

Connecticut hardcore outfit Currents today dropped their second full-length album The Way It Ends, with vocalist Brian Wille joining HEAVY for a chat about the new album and more.
“What we wanted to do with this album was reintroduce ourselves to the world”, he enthused, “even the people that have known us for a long time – we wanted to come out and make a new name for ourselves, both for our sake and for the future of the band”.

Although conceding there are parallels with The Way It Ends and previous releases, Wille is keen to point out there is more going on than ever before.
“There’s A LOT of things going on with this album”, he stressed. “We’ve got crazy blast beats, some breakdowns, ambient riffs and leads, we have some soft singing, we have some weird electronic things going on, we have some heartfelt lyrics, some solo’s by our buddy Chris Wiseman; we’ve got it all! There’s a million things going on and I wouldn’t have it any other way”.
In the full audio Brian talks more about The Way It Ends, the lyrics on the album, the artwork and its meaning, how it differs from previous releases and also how it is similar in some respects, the birth and early days of Currents, music in Connecticut, joining the band in 2015 and challenges that came with it, growing with the band before this album, how Covid 19 has affected Current’s plans and how they plan to overcome the associated problems that have engulfed the music industry since.
