Everyone keeps telling me things slow down closer to Christmas but that’s certainly not the case when it comes to Australian artists!

This week we have Red Sea gracing the cover, with vocalist Erica Bowron catching up with Olivia Reppas for a casual chat that manages to cover significant ground musically. Erica fills us in on their latest effort Sanguine and let me tell you it’s a ripper of an EP.

We also catch up with Plini who dropped his own album Impulse Voices today, as well as welcoming back Elephant Gun to our lives and stereos as Sean Dennis tells us exactly where they have been hiding for 20 years and attempts to explain how they came back even better than they were when they still had their baby teeth.

There’s plenty of new music from Lucid Louie, Kai Cult, Scabz, East York, In Malice Wake, Wolf Creek, Vilify, Ocean Grove, Psycroptic, Anty, Nicolas Cage Fighter and Shotgun Mistress plus an exciting new promotions venture from Silverback Agency.

I don’t want to put the editor’s curse on it but just quietly it looks as though the Aussie festival will be back with us sooner than we thought, with Scene & Heard announced for February next year. It features an all Aussie line-up with Cog, Grinspoon, Frenzal Rhomb, Custard, Killing Heidi, Regurgitator, Ratcat and Caligula plus more to be announced so book your first post-Christmas holidays for Newcastle!

We also review the two new releases from Red Sea and Elephant Gun so kick back with a glass of Slipknot #9 (which you can now get through Groglords) and celebrate Australian music – the best in the world.

Until next week…

Stay HEAVY,

Krispy
