An AVALANCHE of Music

Ahead of their new music event, Avalanche of Rock Volume 1 on December 28, Sydney outfit Avalanche sat down with HEAVY to discuss the festival and what has been happening with the band in the past, present, and future.

“In all honesty, we’ve been playing around Sydney for about two years now”, declared Avalanche bassist and lead singer Steven Campbell, “and we’ve met so many awesome indie bands that don’t get any recognition. You see them play to only ten people sometimes and eventually it gets to that point where you’re listening to their music and you’re looking around the venue and think ‘what’s going on?’ We decided to put on a massive event where we can try and get as many people that we can and try to make it a really, really big event at the end of the year”.

In the full interview, the band discusses the festival in greater detail, using a local act as headliner over a major national or international band, resisting the temptation to put themselves on as headliners, the importance of having different genres of music in the line-up, their current tour, new EP Sent from Hell, a new album next year and an exclusive reveal of the album title, work on a new tour and more.
