New Music From WALKEN

After unveiling an exciting change of pace with their single “Regular Human Person” earlier this year, Brisbane trio Walken are thrilled to share their new track “Fever Dreams”. The release sees the band lean further into their pop undertones while maintaining their origins in punk rock, resulting in a dreamy and driving anthem.

“Fever Dreams” follows a fruitful last twelve months for the group, with a spot on the Brisbane leg of Good Things Festival, multiple support shows with The Bennies, a tour of North Queensland with The Smith Street Band, and their own headline Australian tour in support of “Regular Human Person”.

Originally meeting each other through a countless number of gigs in old Brisbane bands, the three best pals from Walken soon formed a new project of their own and moved into a share house together. Comprised of Matt Cochran (vocals/guitar), Patrick Shipp (guitar/backing vocals) and Beej Vaughan (drums/backing vocals), Walken are a pop-fuelled frenzy of Alternative Rock, ambitious Punk and Power Pop aiming to satisfy your nostalgia-ridden heart.

By spending a steady few years supporting numerous domestic icons (like Violent Soho, DZ Deathrays, Luca Brasi, Tired Lion, WAAX and more), Walken have cemented a niche but dedicated fan base across the East Coast of Australia and established themselves as a staple in their hometown of Brisbane.

The band have self-released multiple singles and EP’s in the past, including the Triple J-supported “Even if It Kills Me”, “Eagle Eye” and “Unomi”, all taken from their most recent EP What’s Your Environment? (which was engineered & produced by long-time Violent Soho producer Bryce Moorhead). Since the What’s Your Environment? drop in December 2017, the band has kept busy with tours and support slots while writing toward their debut album and recording standalone singles.
