With the announcement that Alaska’s own 36 Crazyfists will be lining up alongside Superheist at HeistFest comes relief for their Australian fans who have not seen the band live since 2011. This week HEAVY Mag sat down and had a chat with vocalist Brock Lindow to see what Aussie fans can expect.
“We are super stoked,” Lindow says the excitement clear in his voice. “2011 is such a long time ago and it has been a shame that we haven’t been able to get back to place that has always been so great to us. First and foremost though we are really excited about it. To be honest we hadn’t heard of Superheist before but I certainly have checked them out now and I was pleasantly surprised to learn that they have a very unique sound and I have read up on them and seen how popular they are. I also know that they started out about the same time we did so I am looking forward to meeting these super cool dudes.”
“I think we will be playing a pretty fair balance of everything,” says Lindow when I ask whether the fact they haven’t been here for eight years will mean they will play a greatest hits style package. “We have so many songs to choose from these days and it seems like no matter what tunes you leave out you always bum someone out so we try not to focus too much on things like ‘we need this or we can’t have that.’ Each night we are last on the bill so I figure we can play as long as we like so we’ll give everybody a nice show and yeah we will do some of the old classics but we’ll do a few new ones to.”
