Your Opinion: Do bands like The Prodigy belong on metal websites?

A few weeks ago, Metal Hammer penned a feature about The Prodigy.  The piece was about the music video for Smack My Bitch Up and the controversy surrounding its release.  We’re not going to regurgitate Metal Hammer’s article because you can read that here.

What was interesting, after reading the post, were the comments about whether The Prodigy belonged on a site about metal music.  We’re not singly out Metal Hammer here, it seems to be a growing trend that niche music media steps beyond their niche sometimes to run a popular announcement, an interesting story or just for the clickbait.

On their Facebook page, The Prodigy describes themselves as electronica.  Are we taking genres too seriously or are the metal elitists correct when they exclaim that bands like this don’t belong on metal websites?

Tell us HEAVY readers.  What’s your opinion on this one?
