California-based indie-rock duo Wilder have just revealed their iridescent debut single “Oh No” – produced and mixed by Michael Pepe (Taking Back Sunday, AS IT IS, Silverstein).
“Oh No” opens with reverberated guitar chords and the distant vocals of Stephen Ramos before launching into a spirited sing-along chorus consisting of dance-beat drums and colourful melodic qualities. The two-piece showcase their musical chemistry through the conversant song structure that swells with dynamics and emotion, as the lyrical content underlays a sentimental message.
The release also includes a glitzy accompanying music video. Surrounding the illusion of continuity, the clip spotlights the two band members performing the song and engaging in playful activities in each other’s company. Featuring a vivacious colour scheme and clever editing techniques, the video’s innocence is a nod to the song’s effervescent charm and appeal.
