“This guy is like Howard Jones…Howard Jones reincarnated” said YouTube and Twitch personality Finn McKenty after reacting to Widow Anchor’s single Contest. The Alabama-based metalcore band has used this motivation to record their first EP with producer Jose Del Rio of The Word Alive. They are in the process of releasing each single with an accompanying lyric and music video. The full EP will be released in April.
Contest was released in October with a music video showing the band’s more humorous side. “The toilet plunge was my favorite scene. How many times has that been done in a metal music video? We have more serious songs, but this one was a fun knuckle dragger” said their guitarist Russell.
