Metal heads are united today as we remember the life of legendary vocalist Ronnie James Dio.
On this day, 3 years ago, the man with the velvet voice, passed away at the age of 67 after a short battle with stomach cancer.
His illustrious career in his band Rainbow, as Ozzy’s replacement in Black Sabbath and as a solo artist, inspired countless musicians and fans and garnered him 47 million in record sales combined.
To most, he is considered one of the true gods of metal. He is credited with creating the “metal horns” and today, we all raise ours in his honour.
