In the aftermath of 2020’s carnage, Brisbane metal machine Void Matter emerge from the ash and dust into a new age.
Hailing from Brisbane and formed in 2018, Void Matter has curated a brand of metal characterised by soaring melodies and gut-punching rhythm.
Following the success of their debut EP Running Blind, released in 2019, the band tore up Queensland-wide shows and festivals including Dead of Winter, Shredfest, and Halloween Hysteria. Though COVID-19 ravaged the music industry, Void Matter did not let this stop them. Self-produced amidst 2020’s rampage of festival and tour cancellations, Void Matter’s EP Everything and Nothing garnered critical and listening success.
Now, the band returns with an explosive single, Wildfire, prefacing their much-anticipated Queensland tour. The promise of Void Matter’s magnetic stage presence and soul-seizing sound already has the regional metal scene abuzz.
Kicking the tour off, April 8 sees the band headline a show at Cairns’ iconic The Elixir Music Bar, joined by bands Beast Machine, Forest, and a surprise party band, with the following night seeing them conquering Townsville’s The Ross Island Hotel.
In late May, Void Matter will return to Queensland’s South-East with show-stopping bands Awake in Time, We the Hollow and Resurrection, with the promise of shows brimming with passionate scream-alongs and full-boar moshing.
Described by HEAVY Magazine as an ‘[explosion]… of musical madness…’, Void Matter’s latest venture is not one to miss.
