THE SILENCIO Provide Hope Through Music

Gold Coast alternative rock outfit The Silencio are preparing to drop “You’re Not Alone”, the third single from their planned album which will be released later this year.

In a fresh and novel twist, the band are planning to release each of the ten tracks as stand-alone singles, but first vocalist/guitarist JNB was eager to run us through “You’re Not Alone” and other happenings within The Silencio camp.

“Musically it was a funny one the way it came together,” he said of the song. “It’s the first time I’ve written a song around clicking my fingers, essentially. I was sitting there one day just clicking my fingers and singing a melody and I actually recorded it on Facebook messenger and sent it to my drummer and said ‘can you make a song out of this?’ (laughs). Just clicking my fingers. He just replaced that with a kick drum and then we started to build some synths on top of that. It actually was the chorus that was the real pain to write because I had all these really good ideas – I think I wrote about 50 different choruses – and we ended up settling on the original one we’d written! Go figure. It was one of those songs where everything else was there, we just needed… it took a long time to figure out what we had in the first place was the best for the song.”

In the full interview JNB talks more about the single, goes through the film clip that was shot in Japan, tells us about the band’s unique idea to release every song from the upcoming album in single form prior to release, the changing sound of The Silencio and how it fits in with future plans, this weekends single launch party at Vinnies Dive Bar and more.
