Testing Loyalty with WITHER

After announcing their arrival on the metal scene with the destructive EP Rot and I late last year, Melbourne heavy hitters Wither have wasted little time in releasing new music, unleashing the brutally aggressive single ‘Use Me’ last month. It is a song which showcases the musical talent of the band and also signifies their intentions going forward.

“It came together really, really quickly”, vocalist David De La Hoz proudly revealed. “We decided that we wanted to put out a song and we had a lot of material in the works but we felt it was right to start from scratch. We gave ourselves a deadline – it was something ridiculous like four or five days- and all we knew was we wanted it to be fast and heavy and I think we delivered those things (laughs)”.

In the full interview David discusses ‘Use Me’ in greater detail, talks us through the dark film clip, explains the importance of regular output of music in the modern musical age, gives details on upcoming release shows for the single, talks about their recently completed tour as support to Thy Art is Murder, discusses their upcoming performance at BigSound and the importance of a showcase event like that to bands and more.
