According to the dictionary it means “action of inheriting; to acquire by succession”. In general, this word is linked to its legal meaning where, due to the death of someone, material goods are left to an heir.
However, inheritance is much more than just something material; In a more “philosophical” concept, inheritance is everything that physically or psychologically marks and transforms everything in the universe. Legacies is the first album of the SoundScars project produced by Celo Oliveira (Estúdio Kolera) and brings the different collaborations on vocals as you can hear. Among the more than special appearances are Anna Porreca (ex-Lynx the Revenge), Lorena Stato (ex-Dark Tower), Gabby Vessoni (Fleesh), Leandro Felício (Lynx the Revenge) and Vinicius Libania (Black Priest).
With a heavy conceptual footprint, in its 8 songs, Legacies deals with different possible manifestations of legacies that will certainly make you reflect on humanity and the life we live. The disc covers everything from the genetic inheritance that manifests itself through madness, psychosis and schizophrenia, to the legacies left by ancient civilizations or even past lives; finally, cursed legacies are also addressed, such as the destruction of the planet and culture, and the undeniable legacy of the COVID-19 pandemic.
