Review by Steve Jenkins

American hard rockers Shinedown have been a relevant band for over a decade now with millions of album sales and a handful of hits. After a few line-up changes, this band from Jacksonville now have two original members left but still carry the drive and devotion to make good music.

Lead single from the album Cut The Cord showcases a catchy yet raw vibe that most fans would be proud of, a strong introduction and arguably the best track. Black Cadillac however, goes into a more mainstream and pop influenced sound to which you might compare to radio giants Imagine Dragons with a southern twist.

With their instantly recognizable vocalist Brent Smith laying down some genuine and forthright lyrics, accompanied by a polished and signature hard rock sound, a little more vibrant than previous efforts.

All in all, it is what you would come to expect of a new Shinedown album, not steering far away from what has garnered them success. A solid effort with a couple of standout tracks to add to their collection.
