It feels strange sitting down to chat to Andrea Schwarz and Anca Graterol from Germany’s Rosy Vista about their debut LP. See Rosy Vista have been together for 35 years. Way back in the 1980s they were Germany’s first all female hard rock band. On the back of the release of their EP and singles they performed at some of Germany’s biggest music festivals and shared the stage with acts like Motley Crue and Uriah Heep, but it has taken until 2019 for the band to finally release their debut LP – Unbelievable – and HEAVY Mag found out by chatting to Schwarz and Graterol that the band couldn’t be happier about that.
“We don’t know how to feel,” says Graterol when we talk about the emotions that must be going on in the band with thirty-five years anticipation behind them. “We have the new single coming out with the new video and that is very nice because the public seem to be liking it. Until now everything has been okay, sure there has been some people saying things like ‘what is that???’ but perhaps they are about twelve or something and they don’t know the music, but in general it has been very nice…. and an success… until now.”
“Sure we are excited,” says Schwarz. “We’re just waiting for the reaction because we are doing the same kind of music, like we were born with this kind of music and this is what we do because it is the best. But our baby is now like thirty-five years old so it doesn’t really feel like a little baby any more. These are songs that we have never had the opportunity to release on a CD or LP or whatever before, these are songs that we had in the form of demo tapes that we recorded in the mid-1980s but now we have the chance to bring them out and we are very excited about that. It is just a pity that we couldn’t do them back in the 80s. Maybe the lyrics and the thinking isn’t the same now but we love the songs so we just wanted to give it a try and put it on the CD.”
