This month sees progressive death metal outfit Rivers Of Nihil travel to Australia to tour for the first time… and what a tour to join. As if headliners Ne Obliviscaris is not enough – they will also be joined by Allegaeon, Beyond Creation and Caligula’s Horse as well.
HEAVY Mag recently sat down and had a chat to Rivers Of Nihil’s Adam Biggs about the band’s fans can expect from the tour.
“Tim from Ne Obliviscaris heard our album and just hit us up on Facebook,” says Biggs explaining how the band found themselves on this epic tour. “First off he just told us how much he enjoyed the album and then he made us the offer to come down there and tour with them and we just jumped at the chance because we have been wanting to come down there for so long. We have always heard great things about coming down there and playing for Australian fans so we want to keep coming back and playing for you guys as long as we can.”
Going back to what he mentioned earlier I ask Adam what that moment was like when he first found out that Ne Obliviscaris had written to them. “Just like everybody else we were just happy that people were giving the album a chance let alone them enjoying it,” he says. “So to hear from somebody that we respect like those guys is of course awesome and we didn’t really expect any more than that, but then when they offered to bring us all the way down there it was heard to say no really.”
