REMISSION Unleash New Music Video For ‘Pollux’

Check out the instantly stank face and windmill-inducing new song and video Pollux from Western Australian death thrashers REMISSION.

The last single before the band unleashes its sophomore album Impermanence through Blood Blast Distribution (Nuclear Blast/Believe) on July 21, REMISSION delivers a song that encompasses everything that the band offers, shred, groove, heft and dynamic. Frontman, lyricist and lead player Jacson Robb states: “Musically, Pollux is somewhat of a tasting plate – comprising all the influential elements that have gone into Remission’s music over the last 4 or 5 years. It’s an amalgamation of all the kinds of things we like to write – fast, melodic, technical and catchy, with a sick solo and a breakdown for good measure. This would be my proudest track of the album if I had to choose one because of that, I feel like it’s a defining song for this band.”

Each of the songs released in the lead-up to the album have followed themes of personal challenge, redemption, and hope, all based from personal experience, philosophy and classical mythology. For Pollux Jacson offers: “Lyrically, it differs to “Castor” – in the sense that rather than acting as a part II to the former, it tells a narrative closely tied to the mythical story of Castor and Pollux. The theme centres around the death of Castor, and Pollux feeling bereavement as such that he opts to share his divinity with his brother, so that they may stay together in death, and become the stars in the sky as we know them today. I feel as though this story is relatable to many who have experienced the loss of family or a loved one they cherish dearly at the time of passing.”
