Pushing Ego’s Aside With DEADLIGHTS

Australian metal acts Deadlights and Mirrors both have a spate of unfinished business burning away at their daily existence.

Both have put out albums in the last 18 months – Deadlights with The Uncanny Valley and Mirrors with The Ego’s Weight – but neither has had the chance to tour and spread the word.

We all know why, so why verbalise the problem once more, but rather than write each of those albums off and start on fresh material, Deadlights and Mirrors have decided to join forces and trek off around the country on a co-headlining tour dubbed The Ego’s Valley tour.

Deadlights vocalist Dylan Davidson sat down with HEAVY to talk about the run of shows.

“Both us and Mirrors put our albums out last year,” he said, “and neither of us has been able to do a headline tour off them. We had this opportunity – both of us were looking at the same month to do our own runs, and we’ve got the same booking agent – so they said why don’t you combine these and make it a spectacle? Make the rooms bigger, make the crowds more hyped, you can both headline with the same length sets, same lighting package and make this an all time show. We’ve toured with Mirrors before, we love those guys so why not make it better than it was gonna be?”

In the full interview, Dylan talks more about the tour, what to expect, how a co-headlining tour works, how their album has been received, taking Inertia on the road, new music and more.
