Japan-based modern metalcore outfit Prompts have shared their new EP, Parasite Dream, out everywhere now via Greyscale Records. Parasite Dream explores the intrusive thoughts and emotions that bubble below the surface of our minds, even when we try to ignore them.
“We chose to express those feelings as a ‘parasite’ living within us,” says Prompts vocalist PK. “As we explored that idea, we began to realise that these intrusive emotions and perspectives might actually be another side of ourselves. Because of that, Parasite Dream isn’t about treating those feelings as something that should simply be removed or rejected. Instead, it represents accepting them as part of who we are and learning how to coexist with them. Ultimately, the EP is about self-understanding and embracing every part of yourself, even the parts that can feel uncomfortable or difficult to face.”
