PRIMAL FEAR Refuse to Play it Safe

“It wasn’t a band even,” stressed Mat Sinner of Primal Fear on the humble beginnings of the band. “The start was my own band Sinner was really successful at that moment and Ralph Scheepers wanted to join Judas Priest. That didn’t happen so he wanted to start making music at that point. The only problem was we were both singers (laughs). We got together with Tom Naumann from Sinner and we talked about writing some songs with Ralph and see what happened. We recorded four songs and sent it to the Japanese record company and they offered us a wonderful deal to record an album without signing a contract.”
In the full interview Mat goes deeper into the early days of Primal Fear, talks about their upcoming Australian tour, the support band Sinner, the response to latest album ‘Apocolypse’, the musical changes within the band, their definitive sound and how coming up with new music has become easier over the last few albums plus more.
