Minds?End recently unleashed the brutal track “Prepare For War” from their upcoming EP From Ashes To Embers, with drummer Simon Benham warning the song is only a mere taste of the carnage the Northern Rivers outfit has in store for fans.

“Each song has its own particular flavour,” he mused, “There’s “Stripping the Doubt” and then you have “Prepare For War” and they are different songs with the same common percussive groove style metal. We like to throw in a few elements. There’s plenty of other things going on with the whole EP but the general thing is groove.”

Minds?End describe their upcoming EP as the first breath of a new start, with Benham deferring to the fact that although each band member has a wealth of experience from previous bands, collectively they have spent a great deal of time away from the industry they love.

“All of us have been out of it for a little while,” he affirmed. ” I dropped out of music and started a family and we had all… not packed it up for good… but the opportunity arose and being in the Northern Rivers there isn’t a lot of options musically but we managed to find each other. This is our next shot and we are taking it as seriously as possible.”

The global Covid19 situation has impacted the entire music industry, but Benham firmly believes that with a positive outlook and common sense, musicians can generate some form of momentum to lead them through to the other side.

“One thing we can all do during this Covid period as local bands and fans alike is supporting the scene and each other,” he offered. “Stream the music, grab some merch, buy the EP’s and albums and be ready like a bull at a gate for when the restrictions lift.”

In the full interview, Simon discusses “Prepare For War” in more detail, explains the reasons for releasing the film clip as a lyric video, the band’s goals for the single and EP, the acronym for From Ashes To Embers – F.A.T.E – and how it came about, challenges new bands face in the modern music era and how to overcome them, how Covid19 has impacted Minds?End directly and what they are doing to conquer the associated problems and more.
