Since forming in early 2020 Wollongong rock outfit The Vandastruts have set about putting the rock back in roll, releasing two singles already and bringing a sass and enthusiasm to their rock based music that belies their relative youth.
Their new single Guilt Shot further enhances their credentials, with a blues tinged rock number that is centred around one of the many gun related deaths in U.S history.
Guilt Shot started off with a chord progression in an open D tuning which a chilling vibe, especially when we broke out the resonator to add a haunting sound,” explained singer/guitarist Kayne. “The lyrics really came from the vibe of the song, it started off with the first line, then came together within a day. We decided to base it off a real event in the US, then we decided to add an audio track from the news report for something a little different.”
Guilt Shot is taken from The Vandastruts upcoming EP Revival which is set for release in late September.
