With the world in turmoil at the moment, Brisbane rock outfit Sound Affliction have paid homage to the one and only Tears for Fears by celebrating the anniversary of their eternal classic Everybody Wants To Rule The World which was originally released on March 22, 1985.
The band says of covering the song, “In a world that feels increasingly defined by power struggles, ambition, and uncertainty, we’ve reimagined ‘Everybody Wants to Rule the World‘ as a poignant reflection of both the personal and the global drive for control. This cover is our way of paying homage to the original, while also inviting listeners to reflect on their own pursuit of meaning in these uncertain times.”
Sound Affliction recently released their debut album, Behind The Walls, via Australia’s only independent rock music label XMusic. Showing their tremendous range via four widely diverse singles, the emotionally charged Sober, the riff frenzy of Devil In Me, the powerful songwriting of Leave The Light On & Fly and the angst filled The End.
