Sydney’s dark symphonic metal powerhouse Carmeria are a force like no other.
Embracing the gothic orchestral edge of music that so few dare to venture, the Australian metal visionaries take on the international heavy music scene with powerful vocals, powerful guitars, and orchestrations on a world-class level.
The bands emotive new single “Relinquished” is Carmeria’s endmost offering from their upcoming debut album Advenae, which is due for release on May 14, 2021.
“Relinquished” introduces itself with a sombre piano melody and Jordan Von Grae‘s melancholic vocals intertwined around a warm synth and moody drums until the guitars kick in with a pensive riff underpinned by double-timed drum and bass grooves, propelling this journey-eqsue composition towards an anthemic chorus. The crescendo heralds an impeccable contrast to the rest of the track with a methodically curated guitar solo undulating between sweep-picked and open note melodies, soaring orchestral layers, and Von Grae’s versatile and catchy vocals sitting atop pounding drums and thumping bass, reminiscent of artists such as HIM.
