Premiere: BEAST MACHINE “Frozen”

Share This:

After a string of singles more on the “safer” side of metal, Northern NSW metal outfit Beast Machine have decided to finally reveal their inner demons, starting with their latest single Frozen.

A delightfully crushing live band, Beast Machine have so far been unable to successfully capture that live purpose with their singles.

Until now.

Frozen is a pulverizing and more accurate representation of the fire and venom that course through the bands live performances, with guitarist Reg Barber explaining the song as follows.

Frozen came about, or the theme for the lyrics came about because I was sitting on a train going to work and every single person had earbuds in. There were kids in school uniforms through to old commuters who were ready for their gold watch, and everyone – every single person – was staring at their device. It reminded me of reading 1984 and Fahrenheit 451 where everyone was taking their drugs and staring at their screens. It was some real big brother type control. It looked like everyone was attached like zombies to their devices no one was looking out the window. No one talking, people only engaged with social media or whatever they were looking at. It was just a weird moment and everyone looked like they were frozen in time. I wrote down the theme in my phone, which was kind of ironic, maybe that’s what everyone was doing? Writing songs on their phone, but that became the chorus for the song, it has nothing to do with building snowmen.”
