Perth metal outfit All This Filth have been laying low since the release of their last album Misery Season in 2019.
Not that they have been sitting on their hands. Far from it.
The band have instead been preparing for their assault in the new world of music, but before doing so have decided to take one last parting shot at the world’s recent troubles with new single Still Bleeds My Heart which is being premiered via HEAVY on November 3 with the official release the following day.
Returning with more intensity and aggression than last we heard them, All This Filth are primed for battle and have dug their heels in for the long haul.
Vocalist Brendan Preston joined HEAVY earlier this week to chat about the new single and other happenings in the world of All This Filth.
“At our core, we’re a groove metal band with hints of industrial and a bit of hardcore and a bit of death metal in there,” he explained. “We tend to blend genres as such, and we’ve always done that. This song is sort of like that. It has a lot of our influences put together. A lot of groove. A lot of aggression. It’s an aggressive song, it’s fast, but it starts off with this riff that our guitarist Mark wrote playing around one day, and I was like “that riff. That riff, man, just repeat it over and over again”. Then we put some samples on it and when it kicks in it has a punch. It’s got some fat grooves and some cool breakdowns and stuff. The best way to describe it is aggressive groove with a tinge of industrial.”
In the full interview, Brendan talks more about the essence of Still Bleeds My Heart, the subject matter of the song, the film clip that ties in with the subject matter, more new music, the blending of genres and where it comes from, getting the balance in the music right, upcoming shows and more.
