US Technical Death Metal monsters Ominous Ruin have unveiled Seeds Of Entropy, the face melting first single taken from their second album Requiem which will be released on May 9 via Willowtip Records. Seeds Of Entropy is an explosion of chaotic riffs, intense vocals and rapid fire drums at a dizzying 270 beats per minute.
The song kicks off Requiem proper after a piano and guitar intro lulls you in to a false sense of tranquility. Picking up from where the bands debut album, Amidst Voices that Echo in Stone left off, Seeds of Entropy utilises many of the same musical phrases and stylings, while expanding on familiar motifs at even faster speeds. Lyrically, Seeds of Entropy represents the beginning of the inevitable slip into darkness as entropy consumes reality, both physical and mental form.
This bleak theme is masterfully expanded on throughout the rest of the album.
