Fistful of NOTHING

“The song is inspired by the combination of a couple of things”, explained bass player/vocalist Craig Johnson for Melbourne’s Nothing about their latest single “Self Repair Manifesto” which is being premiered as a video exclusively through HEAVY on November 6.

“It’s about a situation that I found a couple of my friends in and through my obsession of reading Dante’s Inferno and the idea of being in purgatory and basically battling for your survival and just taking the fight to choose that your life is worth fighting for and saving. I think that in these times it’s so easy to get beaten down by depression and so many exterior forces and sometimes you just need to summon up the courage to fight for your life”.

In an insightful interview, Craig delves deeper into the meaning of the song and it’s title, outlines their vision to release the album in a series of conceptual singles that follow the path of a young woman fighting her way through life, a bit of history on the band and why they went on hiatus in 2009 to how and why they reformed, how Nothing have changed musically over the years, their upcoming tour and more.
