It was the gentle cryptic teasing that left OPETH and Rock / Metal fans in a general state of wonder and intrigue. The OPETH logo superimposed over a picture of the famous Sydney Harbour. Was an Australian Tour announcement imminent? Fans didn’t have to wait long and the announcement left them ecstatic. To celebrate the release of band’s 12th studio album Sorceress, on September 30th via the band’s imprint label Moderbolaget Records with Nuclear Blast Entertainment. OPETH announced 3 special shows at historic venues around the world in support of the record: Radio City Music Hall in New York on October 1st, SSE Wembley Arena in London on November 19th and the famed Sydney Opera House in Australia on February 6th 2017 which will see OPETH will be performing music from their upcoming album, Sorceress, as well as fan favourite cuts from their celebrated catalog and will be opening the shows with a special set featuring material from Deliverance & Damnation.
A unique and stunning announcement; one of the most influential and innovative bands of their era performing at one of the most iconic (in design and prestige) concert halls on the planet; an epic event unlikely to be seen again. People were left in amazement and a state of angst set in as people rushed to secure a ticket to this historic event.
