Forest of Fog has returned after 10 years releasing a brand new song titled ‘Awake‘. The solo project of former Eluveitie guitarist, Ivo Henzi has been brought back to life after his recent departure from Switzerland’s most successful, folk metal act Eluveitie. After a successful 12+ years career in the band, Ivo decided to step down as their guitarist and focus on other musical projects that also include working with other former Eluveitie members Anna Murphy and Merlin Sutter.
‘Awake‘ is the first song released after almost 10 years and features the musical talents of Ivo who has written and composed the music and played all the instruments himself, except the drums which were recorded by Merlin. Anna Murphy mixed and mastered the song along with Marco Jencarelli at Swiss Soundfarm Studios.
With four brilliant black metal albums to his credit, Ivo has this to say about his new track which marks the triumphant return of Forest of Fog; ” ‘Awake’ describes the profound feeling of an inner awakening: facing the past and letting go can be painful, but what follows is the realisation that it is the only way to find new paths in life. It is something you can apply to your physical, psychological or even spiritual state.”
