New Music From SPLIT FEED

Following a string of triumphant, pop-punk driven singles including their latest release ‘Dwell’, Newcastle punks Split Feed recently unveiled their sophomore EP Second Skin. In support of the release, Split Feed will head out on tour along the east coast, hitting stages in Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, Newcastle, Wollongong, and Brisbane.

Frontman Joe Willis explains Second Skin has an overarching theme, delving into overcoming hardships and building resilience to set your best foot forward.

“Second Skin is a metaphor for strengthening your defence at times when you need it the most, growing another layer of skin that acts like armour and deflecting all the things that may knock you down,” says Willis. “I’ve always seen myself as quite a weak person, and I’ve always found it difficult to speak my mind in times where I have needed to…it’s something I’ve been trying to get together for a long time.

“The EP is almost like a self-reminder that of course things aren’t going to work out from time to time, and it will hit you hard, but there’s always light at the end of the tunnel and you can always bounce back from these hardships if you truly believe that you can.”

Split Feed’s sophomore EP Second Skin was recorded, produced, mixed and mastered by Fletcher Matthews at his Sydney home studio.
