On the back of their Triple J Unearthed success earlier this year, Cairns locals Only Ghosts Remain release their fourth single, “Scars”, today on all major streaming platforms.
With over 4,000 monthly Spotify listeners and counting the band’s momentum continues to build. Their debut single “Black Dog” was released in July 2019 and was well-received by the public. It racked up 7,500 streams, a commendable achievement for a debut. This was quickly followed up with their sophomore release “Broken”, released later that month, which went on to amass over 41,000 streams to date. “As The Last Light Fades”, the band’s most recent effort released in mid-November 2019, has already gone on to reel in 40,000 streams.
The North Queensland-based alternative metal outfits’ sonic palette lies at the intersection of beauty and chaos. Through the juxtaposition of clean-cut vocals and brutal metal screams, listeners are guided through dynamic passages that meander between neck-snapping breakdowns and intimate, ethereal interludes.
They have supported Make Them Suffer (Ride Records), and three-time Aria award-winning act Northlane in January 2020, a slot landed through Triple J Unearthed. They are currently gearing up for an East Coast Queensland tour at the end of 2020, collaborating with other emerging metal bands along the way.
