Sydney rock and blues outfit Necko invites you to join the band in a night of celebration at The Factory Floor on June 17 to commemorate the release of their debut self-titled EP. Necko draws on classic rock themes and supplies listeners a shot of nostalgia with a sound and performance reminiscent of British blues-rock icons of the late ‘60s and early ‘70s.
The record, written and recorded over the course of 2021 and 2022 was ideated and created by frontman Alek Necko and producer trio DEL. Once the tracks were handed over to Al Sutton of Rustbelt Studios for mixing, the band started rehearsals and began performing as Necko in December of 2022, quickly garnering attention with galvanic performances that displayed advanced musical symbiosis. This is exemplified by multiple sold-out shows at respected venues in their first season and the invitation to support The Radiators on their national tour, only 4 months into their journey.
Alek reflects, “We are glad to see this level of understanding for what Necko is and what we are trying to achieve – especially so early. Hopefully this record drives that home a little bit more. We’re aware of what we’re doing; of the influences.”
