Thousands of festivalgoers are set to experience the 2026 Broken Hill Mundi Mundi Bash, with the iconic outback festival going ahead from 20–22 August at Belmont Station on the spectacular Mundi Mundi Plains. Now in its fifth year, the Bash has become a major fixture on Australia’s outback events calendar, attracting music lovers and families from across the country for a uniquely Australian weekend of live music, camping, adventure and family-friendly entertainment.
While the rain experienced over an 11-day period is close to, and will likely exceed, the all-time Broken Hill August rainfall record of 74mm, set in 1973, the event organisers, Outback Music Festival Group – a family-based organisation who are proud and passionate about delivering a well-organised festival and an exceptional experience for their patrons, still managed to get over 10,000 patrons onto site.
The festival itself remains ON and the artists, activities and entertainment program will proceed for patrons already onsite and eligible to enter.
Unfortunately, following a thorough assessment of site conditions, the event team has made the difficult decision to close entry to patrons with 1 Day Early Entry or Standard Vehicle Entry tickets who were planning to camp onsite or attend as day-trippers, as approximately 25% to 30% of the site is now unsuitable for camping. Affected patrons will receive communication directly from Oztix next week with details regarding refunds of festival and activity tickets and vehicle entry passes.
