Mitch, Please are a 5-piece nerd punk band from Meanjin/Brisbane. On December 9, 2022, Mitch, Please released their second six-track EP Yes, Thanks, which is the long-awaited follow-up to 2020’s debut EP The Bin Collection. Using familiar elements of satire and double entendre akin to The Bin Collection, Yes, Thanks takes inspiration from relatable shortcomings such as puzzle-addiction, over-consumption of fizzy drinks and the hoarding of band shirts.
Debut EP The Bin Collection helped solidify the band as a local South East Queensland favourite, playing to a loyal fan base alongside some well-known Australian artists including Regurgitator, The Fauves, Phil Jamieson, The Decline, Glitoris and Wolfpack. The Bin Collection received generous airplay from national community radio stations, with 4ZZZ FM ranking it in the Top 20 most played every week for over four months following its release.
Following the positive reception of The Bin Collection EP, Mitch, Please hit The Plutonium studio again in 2021 with audio engineer virtuoso Darek Mudge behind the desk to put together Yes, Thanks. The first single released from Yes, Thanks entitled The Power of the Trake reached third place in the 4ZZZ Hot 100 for 2021.
